Description
The PODERM® TOE CAP FOR NAILS DAMAGED by Fungal Infection and Trauma forms a Gel protection around the nail, which repairs it, and prevents it from deteriorating and lifting.
It promotes uniform and smooth nail regrowth for peeling, damaged, thick or yellow nails. It acts mechanically to protect the nail and its matrix from repetitive microshocks in closed toe or narrow shoes.
It is complementary to localized treatment for fungal nails such as the PODERM® PURIFIANT Fungal Nails Serum and the PODERM® Stubborn Fungal Nail BOOSTER Serum.
The TEA TREE GEL protection improves the appearance of yellow, peeling and damaged nails and prevents the development and recurrence of complex or stubborn nail pathologies, such as fungal nail infections (fungi like moulds, yeasts or dermatophytes).
“ There is a complex process behind a nail becoming infected by a fungus, and this process can be influenced by a series of factors. The patient’s medical condition may influence the likelihood of developing a fungal infection in a nail, but there are also other signs that indicate that the nail may be prone to colonisation or infection.
Infection is most often caused by a fungal colonisation which originates from either flora or fungi present in/on the body. A damaged nail (lifting, weakened, traumatised, split, broken, etc.) becomes an entry point for a proliferating fungus.
A damaged nail is a common ailment in the foot, which can be caused by friction or excessive pressure – factors which are common in the footwear we typically wear today. The shape of the forefoot can also be a cause (clawed toes, hallux extensus [cockup deformity], hallux rigidus [stiff big toe], etc.). This problem is revealed by a change in the visual appearance of the nail, wasting, thickening or a detachment of the nail plate. In these cases, the PODERM® DAMAGED NAIL TOE CAP should be used.”

Application
The PODERM® DAMAGED NAIL PROTECTION is worn directly against the skin on either the right or left foot. The protection fits all types of flexible shoes and is available in three sizes:S, M, L. The product is reusable. Wash the product by hand with warm water and allow to dry. Do not use for more than 16 hours per day. Do not apply to an open wound. Diabetics and people suffering from blood circulation problems must seek advice from a healthcare professional before use. Precautions for use: Read the instructions carefully.

Which serum should be applied to effectively and durably treat the nail?
Before wearing the gel toe cap, we recommend applying the PODERM Purifying – Fungal Nail Infection Serum to treat a fungal nail infection or yellow/damaged nails.Improvement can be seen from the very first application, but the product should continue to be applied until the nail has fully regrown.Allow for between 6 and 12 months for total toenail regrowth.
